CutPRO® Cut Resistant Clothing

Cut resistant clothing has been an essential part of PPE within the flat glass and sheet metal production and processing industry for many years.

Both glass and metal are two exceptional materials. However, we also know that working with either can present the risk of sustaining lacerations and cuts.

CutPRO® is a pioneering brand of high performance cut resistant clothing. Specially created for those in need of quality, durable and user-friendly workwear, its level of protection is outstanding.

Together with a multi award winning Department of Apparel of one of the UK’s leading Universities, PPSS Group decided to take ’durability’ and ‘quality’ to a completely different level.

Following extensive research and contribution from health and safety professionals of leading flat glass and sheet metal processing companies from around the world, CutPRO® Cut Resistant Clothing was launched in 2018.

CutPRO® Cut Resistant Clothing | Performance Levels

All cut resistant garments are made out of 100% Cut-Tex® PRO a globally respected, ultra-high performance, light, durable and easy to wear fabric that is in excess of 5 times more cut resistant than Kevlar® products rated level 3 at 5N.

In terms of performance it really doesn’t get much better than this. CutPRO® garments are offering ANSI/ISEA 2016 Blade Cut Resistance Level A5.

It also offers Cut Resistance Level E and the highest levels of abrasion, puncture and tear resistance possible (according to EN 388:2016 – Protection Against Mechanical Risks). Based on the previous standard EN388:2003 CutPRO® garments offer Level 5.

It is also important to us to highlight that we do not produce neither the raw fabric and nor our finished garments in China or the Far East.  The raw fabric is produced in the UK and all garments are being produced in the European Union.  This was and is of greatest importance. The quality, as well as the condition of the production had to be ‘right’ and ‘good’.

All garments are fully CE marked (Cat II PPE) and they do of course comply with all legal standards and requirements.

According to the UK’s HSE Guide to handling sharp metal information sheet:

“Injuries resulting from the manual handling of objects and materials with sharp edges are common… data from firms show that as many as a third of all injuries recorded are caused by cuts from sharp metal during handling.”

We believe that there are differences between one flat glass company and another…. we also believe that there are differences between one sheet metal company and another. The differences might be based on one of several of the following:

  • History of accidents and precise type/location of cut injuries
  • Precise operational tasks (manual handling Vs automatization)
  • Operational risks, especially in regard to ‘risk of laceration’
  • Temperature of environment

Based on this we don’t believe in a ‘one garment fits all approach’, hence we have designed a range of cut resistant clothing for you to pick from.

CutPRO® Cut Resistant Clothing can effectively help you replace three types of workwear:

  • Workwear/Uniform – our products have been designed to look like standard workwear uniform but come with options of colours and your company logo can be added too.
  • Cut Resistant PPE – its cut resistant properties of our products will most likely eliminate any need for extra layers or garments.
  • Hi-Vis Clothing – some companies require make it compulsory for workers to wear additional clothing complying with hi-visibility standards.  To replace the need for such, we can add high visibility tape/high visibility colours.
